Low Cost Cheap & Cheerful (Around a £10)

Maly Buddha (Uvoz 46, Prague 1. Tel. 220 513 894). The rice is so fluffy and prices so cheap you'll think you are in Asia when you visit this restaurant near the castle.

Around £20

Cafe Bombay (Dlouha Trida 13, Prague 1. Tel. 222 328 400). The ground-floor cafe is a great place to relax and have a drink. Upstairs you'll find the restaurant. But if you want a hot and spicy curry you'll have to request it - Czechs have a surprisingly low spice threshold.

Special Occasions

Cicala (Zitna 43, Prague 1. Tel. 222 210 375). The best Italian restaurant in Prague, frequented by movie stars including Sean Connery and Matt Damon. Don't bother with the menu - simply let the owner cook whatever he fancies for you.

Exclusive Restaurants

Pravda (Parizska 17, Prague 1. Tel. 222 326 203). The menu features an international fusion of foods and the tastes generally work really well together.

Pubs - Nightclubs - Music - Entertainment Prague

Public Houses (Pubs)

Ocean Drive (V Kolkovne 7, Prague 1. Tel. 224 819 089). This is the place to spend a little cash on a great cocktail before hitting the town to spend virtually no money on a great deal of beer!

Live Entertainment Music

Akropolis (Kubelikova 27, Prague 3. Tel. 222 710 147). A short jaunt out of the city centre, Akropolis is worth the trip if you are looking for live music.

Nightspots Clubs Nightclubs

Studio 54 (Husitska 54, Prague 3). Don't expect too much at this seedy late-night joint. Only true party- goers need apply to this after-hours bar.

Places To Visit & See - Days Out - About Prague

Although often overlooked by tourists, the green spaces of Letna Park (Prague 7) offer the best views over the city. An enormous statue of Stalin once featured here, dominating the Prague skyline. The statue stood over the city for six years until Stalin was discredited and the marble monument was blown up in 1961. Today, a metronome unreliably ticks in Stalin's old spot.
