Travel From Naples Airport

Coaches from Naples Airport

There is an official airport coach which leaves from outside the airport and goes to Piazza Municipio. Buses leave every hour and the journey takes 20 minutes. Tickets cost ,18.

Buses to the centre leave from stop number 14 every 15 minutes and the journey takes 30 minutes. Tickets cost ,O.77.

Travel by Car

Autostrada A2 exits into Naples bypass road (tangenziale). This is a toll road so you will need local currency. The journey takes around 30 minutes.

Low Cost Cheap & Cheerful (Around a £10)

Acunzo (Via Cimarosa 60/62. Tel. 081 578 53 62). Good starters and main courses, although pizza is the speciality at this Vomero-based restaurant.

Around £20

A' Signora (Via Posillipo 268. Tel. 081 575 42 62). Good traditional Neapolitan cuisine served in elegant surroundings.

Special Occasions

Al Pruneto (Discesa Coroglio 101/102. Tel. 081 769 07 44). It's been around since 1944 and is still run by the same family. The name - orchard of plums - comes from the overhanging plum trees in the garden.

Exclusive Restaurants

Rosati (Via Chiaia 260. Tel. 081 421 660). This central hotel's restaurant is not expensive and gives visitors the chance to dine in a restored palazzo with views of Piazza Plebiscito and the opera house.

Places To Visit & See - Days Out - About Naples

Wine bars are a great way to escape from the cold weather that strikes even this part of Italy in the winter months. A quick tour of the city's best could take you to Berevino (Via San Sebastiano 62) serving delicious snacks plus a wide variety of regional wines. Also in the centro storico is the quirkily decorated Bacco (Vico di San Domenico Maggiore 19) and the cramped but atmospheric Las Tapas Bar (Piazzetta del Nilo 36), which is great for an after-dinner drink. If you want to buy some wine to take home head to the Enoteca Dante (Piazza Dante 18) which stocks an excellent range of locally produced wines.
