Travel From Malaga Airport

Travel by Train Malaga Airport

The train station is five minutes' walk from the arrivals hall (llegadas). Trains run regularly From Malaga Airport and fares cost 95c one-way 1.55 to Fuengirola, 95c to Torremolinos and ,1.10. If you're heading for Malaga get off at the last station, Centro-Alameda. Buy your ticket from the machine on the platform, as you'll be charged more than double on the train.

Buses From Malaga Airport

The bus stop is outside the arrivals hall. There is a half-hourly service to Malaga (6.30am-11.30pm) costing ,1 with links to all the coastal resorts, plus several inland towns, including Ronda, Mijas and Antequera.

Cafe Fresco (Las Rampas, Fuengirola. Tel. 679 311 223). An English-run restaurant serving healthy salads, home-made soups, veggie-filled wraps, freshly squeezed juices and cakes.

Restaurante Japones Tokyo (Paseo Mara­timo 103, Torreblanca del Sol. Tel. 95 266 0768). Suitably Zen surroundings, complete with aquarium, at this Japanese restaurant. Dishes are prepared flamboyantly at your table, including sushi. Highly recommended.

Special Occasions

La Zoca (Bulto 61, La Carihuela, Torremolinos. Tel. 95 238 5925). Glass-fronted restaurant with sea views to accompany the excellent seafood on the menu. Attracts carloads of noisy Malagueos on Sundays.

Exclusive Restaurants

La Belle Epoque (Calle Ortiz de Molnillo 14, Marbella. Tel. 95 236 1999). Located on one of Marbella's prettiest bougainvillea-draped streets, the menu here is nouvelle international featuring dishes like turbot with nutmeg sauce and Hungarian fish soup. Attracts a cool and sophisticated clientele.

Panaderia La Panera (6 Calle Galvez Ginachero 6, Fuengirola. Tel. 95 246 2503). A Danish-owned neighbourhood bakery with live music on Sunday afternoons - much to the bemusement of those just here for the bread.

El Jardin (1 Calle Caon. Tel. 95 222 0419). Classy restaurant and bar with regular live music, including tango on Thursdays.

Nightspots Clubs Nightclubs

Irish Times (26 Calle Condes San Isidro. Tel. 95 246 7611). This popular themed pub attracts a spirited and mainly Spanish crowd. ZZ Pub (6 Calle Tejan y Rodriguez). Has a grungy appeal and live bands on Mondays and Thursdays.

Places To Visit & See - Days Out - About Malaga

If you fancy a night out in Malaga, start your evening at Plaza Merced. This is the square where Picasso was born and there are loads of good bars and restaurants in these parts. Just don't forget that nightlife in Spain starts at a time that British people usually think of as cocoa-time!
