Travel by Train Geneva Airport
Located just 300 metres from the terminal, at the airport railway station you can catch a train directly to Geneva's Cornavin terminal in ten minutes. Tickets from airport to city-centre cost CHF5
Travel by Bus or Coach
Bus number 10, which departs every ten minutes, will take you directly to the city centre, while bus number 18, which departs every 30 minutes, will bring you straight to the United Nations' headquarters. Press button B (CHF2.20) for a one- hour ticket or button E (CHF6.00) for a day pass.
Travel by Car
It takes just 15 minutes to drive into the centre of Geneva, with the city centre clearly signposted on leaving the airport.
Travel by Taxi

Low Cost Cheap & Cheerful (Around a £10)
Teranga (38 bis Rue de Zurich. Tel 022 731 1522). Serving Senegalese specialities such as braised chicken in onion sauce and ginger juice. Good service, cool decor and great food.

L-Esquisse (7 Rue du Lac. Tel 022 786 5044). Top- notch French cuisine at less than you'd normally expect to pay. Try the foie gras and filet mignon de veau. It's also a gallery for local artists.
Special Occasions
L'Ange du Dix Vins (31 Rue Jacques Dalphin, Carouge. Tel 022 342 0318). Located in the bohemian Carouge district, this is a much-loved local favourite. The truffle menu (for ,71 or CHF 110) is not to be missed. Relaxed atmosphere, far removed from the snootier establishments that cluster along Geneva's lakeside.
Exclusive Restaurants
Domaine de Chateauxvieux (16 Rue Chateauxvieux, Peney-Dessus, Satigny. Tel 022 753 1511). This old manor house is just a short drive out of the city in the heart of the vineyards. The restaurant interior boasts oak beams and open fires while the establishment holds two Michelin stars. The food is splendid indeed, with the best of traditional menus mixed with a modern flair.

L'Usine (Place des Volontaires. Tel. 022 781 3490). This alternative arts centre features live bands at the Salle PTR. Dance productions are regularly staged at the Theatre de l'Usine, with alternative cinema at the Cinema Spoutnik.

Riverfront location with exposed metal interiors.
Places To Visit & See - Days Out - About Geneva
There's nothing better than a winter sauna at the Bains des Paquis (30 Quai du Mont Blanc. Tel. 022 732 2974). Just ,10 (CHF 15) to enter, with a half-hour massage for ,20 (CHF 30). No other sauna in town offers views of the lake from inside its Turkish bath.
