Places To Visit & See - Days Out - About Edinburgh
Morningside, home to fictional children's character Maisie the cat and birthplace of novelist Muriel Spark, has thrown off its prim and proper image with an influx of students and young first-time buyers. There's a good mix of trendy and traditional bars, while the area - which is off the usual tourist track - also boasts a family-run art-deco cinema at the Dominion on Newbattle Terrace.
