Porcelain (10 Donegall Square. Tel. 028 9024 1001). Part of the ultra-cool Ten Square hotel at the back of the City Hall. Great food in a beautifully restored building.

Exclusive Restaurants

Deane's (34-40 Howard Street. Tel. 028 9056 0000). Michael Deane is one of the city's celebrity chefs and his Michelin-starred restaurant serves some of the best food in Ireland.(Prices quoted per person)

Pubs - Nightclubs - Music - Entertainment Belfast

Public Houses (Pubs)

Cutters Wharf (Lockview Road. Tel. 028 9080 5100). Recently changed hands and given a complete makeover, this bar-cum-restaurant is on the banks of the River Lagan in the leafy suburb of Stranmillis. Perfect for a low-key drink.

Live Entertainment Music

Limelight (17 Ormeau Avenue. Tel. 028 9032 5968). You name them, they've probably played here, from Blur and Oasis to the Happy Mondays. With its low ceiling and pressure-cooker atmosphere, this venue is the place to catch the next big thing.

Nightspots Clubs Nightclubs

M-Club (23-31 Bradbury Place. Tel. 028 9023 3131). Hard to miss with its massive three-storey glass frontage which changes colour, the M-Club is a no-holds-barred full-on party disco. Nan and Irene's (12 Brunswick Street. Tel. 028 9023 9123). Once this place gets going it's hard to beat. The 1970s-style lounge decor goes perfectly with the cheesy hits from yesteryear.

Places To Visit & See - Days Out - About Belfast

Just a 15-minute walk from the city centre the main campus of Queen's University, and the surrounding area, are well worth checking out. Ask to have a peek at the recently restored Great Hall. Botanic Avenue, with its numerous cafes, is also nearby.
